Close crop of one of the young Dabchicks receiving a Tadpole from one of its attentive parents. One of its unusual bendy legs is hitched along its back. Dabchicks are medium-sized aquatic diving birds. Endemic to New Zealand with a conservation status of recovering with an estimated population of 1900-2000 individuals. 100-400mm cropped.
