The rape of the Earth

Addis is a 24/7 construction site. I've seen it in Nairobi, in Kigali, in Lagos, in Rome, London, NY. I look at this image and I see the sunk Statue of Liberty in the movie "The Planet of the Apes": the final sign of a society that has destroyed itself. The black hole in the middle is a crater, a wound, a promise of wealth hiding an act of violence to the earth.
