According to Kaikōura Wildlife Hospital 'Red-billed gull colonies are collapsing across New Zealand. Red-billed gulls have three main breeding colonies - Three Kings Islands, Mokuhinau Islands, and Kaikōura Peninsula. At two of them, populations have collapsed. The largest remaining and fastest declining colony is Kaikōura.’
