My climbing buddy James Hobson carefully traverses a steep, exposed snow face at 1,900m on the Bealey side of Rome Ridge. This is part of the 'crux' section of this well known route on Mount Rolleston, Arthurs Pass, New Zealand. In good conditions it is not particularly difficult, but the terrain still demands respect. Mount Rolleston has one of the highest death rates on New Zealand mountains because it's extremely easy to access. The climb begins right off State Highway 73, making it very easy to venture up / Lumix TZ 220, F8, 1/500, ISO 125, 24mm
