The Braided Rangitata River
An aerial view of the Upper Rangitata River, looking towards the confluence of the Havelock and Clyde Rivers, taken in March 2020. It showcases a braided river ecosystem, favoured nesting site of some of the world's rarest birds, including Kaki (Black Stilt), Wrybills (the only bird in the world with a beak bent sidewards) and the Black-billed gull. Taken with my Olympus E-M1 MkII, with a 11-22 mm lens. Settings were ISO 200, f9, 1/160s
