White Heron or Kōtuku stealthy hunting at Dawn. According to NZ Birds online there are only 150-200 of these native birds remaining in New Zealand. Conservation status: Nationally critical. This Kōtuku is known to visit Wellington in winter and occasionally hangs out with the Royal Spoonbills for company at Hikoikoi Reserve in Petone. 70-200 mm 2.8 cropped.
