Western Springs has a plethora of waterbird life, and some of the resident swan pairs have hatched some very late in the season chicks as the cold autumn deepens. Their chances of survival aren't great but the doting parents are doing all they can. I love seeing the chicks smugly surveying their world from the safety of a warm back.
