New Zealand Dotterel or Tūturiwhatu in his beautiful breeding plumage. The endangered NZ Dotterel are more at risk than some species of Kiwi. Devastating to witness a white baiter drive his cart through the sand dunes in-spite of signage and an area roped off, warning that the Dotterels nest there.
