Leucistic juvenile tūī

Leucistic juvenile tūī

Leucism is a genetic condition that affects the bird's feathers which lack melanin pigment. So the feathers of this tūī are a washed-out grey. The iris of leucistic birds remains dark. Whereas albino birds have pale pink or reddish eyes. At Zealandia Ecosanctuary in Wellington.
