Bar-Tailed Godwit

Bar-Tailed Godwits or Kuaka are Native to New Zealand. They breed in Western Alaska and migrate to New Zealand and Eastern Australia. I watched this one foraging at Waikanae Estuary at 9am - such a graceful species. They perform the longest nonstop flights of any non seabird (8-9 days), and unlike a seabird there is no chance of an inflight snack. 70-200mm cropped.
