Opulence...or dystopia

Sometimes, especially in the smaller towns and cities, the sky is blue and the streets are quiet but strangely the aura is not one of serenity. It is one that seems strange and slightly unnerving. Where is everybody? Is what I am seeing opulence or some kind of dystopia? How sad is that....
