Lake Rotomahana
Lake Rotomahana was drastically changed in size and shape after the 1886 Tarawera eruption. The pink and white terraces, one of the 7 wonders of the world lies buried under sediment and water. This lakes water levels rise and fall according to how much rainfall is received in the area. Steam floats across its surface and bubbles of gas rise from its rocky rocky depths, forcing their way through the mud. Swans and ducks take advantage of the ever present supply of food cooked and fermented by the tepid waters.\nCanon 5dmkiv\n1/80th sec, f/11, 105mm, ISO 800\n
